At nadine, Brussels, Valentina Stepanova presents "abg: autos (self) bios (life) grafein (writing)", a research project exploring the intersection of personal memory and broader social, historical, and political currents. The exhibition delves into autobiographical narratives in an era of conflicting collective memory and disinformation, examining how individual stories relate to the normalization of violence, the spread of ideologies, and the mechanisms of forgetting.

This exhibition features a work-in-progress living installation, an evolution of Stepanova's transdisciplinary documentary practice. The installation comprises interconnected stations that function as autonomous "islands." These spaces bring together autobiographical material, archival fragments, and cultural symbols, moving beyond linear storytelling to create a complex web of personal and collective resonance.
