Sooner or later you will call my name

Esther Schipper, Paris presents Sooner or later you will call my name, the second solo exhibition by Sojourner Truth Parsons. The exhibition features a suite of new paintings by the artist, whose practice explores the relationship between the study of light and the perception of the world, influenced by desires and fantasies.

Parsons's works draw on forms such as celestial bodies, flowers, and urban architecture to convey themes of loss, isolation, and resurgence. The paintings are characterized by distilled emotional essences of environments, rendered with thin washes and tactile brushstrokes on surfaces of black acrylic paint, creating iridescent and shimmering effects.
