The Passenger
Polka Galerie, Paris, presents "The Passenger," a new photographic series by Sebastien J. Zanella. This exhibition marks Zanella's first show at the gallery and features an introspective body of work born from both internal and geographical displacement. The series documents a journey spanning Turkey, the Sahara, the Hawaiian Islands, Latin America, and the Canary Islands, reflecting on humanity's connection to the world.
Zanella's practice has long explored movement, memory, and presence. In "The Passenger," his approach becomes more meditative, with images serving as spaces for suspension and inner resonance. The work questions contemporary disorientation while seeking reconnection with nature and the essence of simple things, moving beyond documentary intent to evoke a perceptual and instinctive experience.
