Recent history

Nino Mier Gallery presents Recent history, the first solo exhibition by New York-based artist and filmmaker Ronan Day-Lewis. The exhibition, held at the Allard 25 location, features painting, installation, and video works. These pieces, including several large-scale paintings, are derived from a multi-year project where Day-Lewis utilized amateur Flickr images and other internet archives from the early 2000s. He constructs a collective memory that blends disparate experiences into a narrative that hovers between coherence and fragmentation.

The artist transforms these source materials into luminous oil pastel works on linen, described as both dreamlike and photographic. This aesthetic approach explores the space between American mythology and suburban despair. A central video installation includes an original score by singer-songwriter Liam McCay, known as Sign Crushes Motorist. The exhibition runs until July 18.
