Proliférations

The exhibition "Proliférations" at Christian Berst, Paris, features the work of Ramon Losa. Born in 1959 in Spain, Losa emigrated to France and later returned to Spain. Despite a brief enrollment at the Beaux-Arts in Madrid, his indocility led to his expulsion. His psychic struggles, leading to regular hospitalizations, also fueled his creative output, resulting in art that explores fragmentation and a raw sincerity.

Losa's practice spans painting, collage, and text, often incorporating asemic writing. His work synthesizes popular culture, academic art, contemporary dramas, and modernity, reflecting the rapid circulation of images. He employs techniques of ellipsis and telescoping, blurring the lines between personal affect and an ironic commentary on the contemporary era, reminiscent of the "hystericization of images" on social media.
