AUSSTELLUNG GEHT HINTER IHNEN WEITER [Exhibition continues behind you] is Philipp Timischl’s first exhibition at Galerie Sultana, Paris. The exhibition title, presented in German, English, and French, plays with ambiguity regarding the viewer's position and the exhibition's spatial and temporal boundaries. Small paintings suspended by chains at the entrance challenge the conventional invitation to enter, suggesting the exhibition may have already begun or extends beyond immediate perception.

The show features new sculptural works combining paintings and screens. These pieces, placed near the wall, are accompanied by videos of the paintings themselves, offering fragmented views and acting as a substitute eye for the artist's gaze. The abstract, often monochrome paintings are presented as deliberately restrained, their surfaces quieted by the accompanying moving images. This staging of painting as both object and image, thing and documentation, questions contemporary visibility and the conditions of looking.
