The Bernier/Eliades Gallery in Brussels presents a solo exhibition by Philip A. Zimmermann, running from January 15 to April 2, 2026. Zimmermann's artistic practice spans painting, works on paper, collage, and photography, exploring themes of layering, fragmentation, and transformation. His work originates from an early engagement with illegal graffiti and investigates the interplay between surface, intervention, and the marks left by appropriation and overwriting.

The exhibition features paintings that engage in a dialogue between urban experience and abstraction. These works are characterized by dense, multilayered surfaces where fragments, overpainting, and erasures coexist, reflecting a continuous process of modification. While traces of vandalism and graffiti are present, they are translated into an autonomous pictorial language. Zimmermann, born in 1988, lives and works between Germany and Belgium, and his practice has been shown at Bernier/Eliades in Brussels and Athens.
