Near, Far, Uncertain

Olivier Laban-Mattei , Alfie Masoliver , Natalya Saprunova

Near. Far. Uncertain. brings together three photographic perspectives on the relationship between humanity and its environment, from the American plains to the Arctic. The exhibition explores human fragility and the concept of wandering as a path to self-understanding.

Alfie Masoliver's work follows a romantic Wanderer in the American West, exploring metaphysical solitude and the aesthetic of the Sublime in desolate landscapes. Natalya Saprunova's series, Boreal People, documents the resilience of Northern peoples facing environmental change and the legacies of colonization. Olivier Laban-Mattei's Black Snow series in Greenland captures a society grappling with identity, colonial history, and independence amidst a landscape affected by climate change and geopolitical interests.
