Pays rêvé, pays réel: A proposal by Lucien Terras — In dialogue with works from the Seroussi Collection is presented across two locations: Esther Schipper, Paris, and Galerie Natalie Seroussi, Paris. The exhibition features Merikokeb Berhanu, Sanford Biggers, Julien Creuzet, Leslie Hewitt, Leslie Hewitt in collaboration with Jamal Cyrus, Jason Moran, Alex Gardner, Simone Leigh, Arjan Martins, Roberto Matta, Moké, and Thomias Radin.
Drawing inspiration from Édouard Glissant's poetry, the exhibition explores themes of migration, memory, language, and belonging within the context of the African diaspora. Artists' works engage with Glissant's ideas on identity, fractured histories, and interconnected cultures, utilizing painting, sculpture, sound, and video to contemplate the diasporic experience as both lived reality and imagined space.
