Riverland
During periods of personal turmoil, Dutch photographer Marjolein Martinot sought solace in nature, photographing the tranquil beauty of a riverbank in the south of France at dusk. Her camera captured fleeting moments of connection with animals and families by the water, transforming an aimless ritual into a visual journal of healing and transformation.
The water's movement mirrored her emotional state, while the families she encountered offered a sense of belonging. Through images of children playing, rippling water, and trees leaning towards the river, Martinot began to forge a new identity. Her photographs, while personal, offer a universal reflection on resilience, connection, and the subtle magic of everyday life.
