Pétrichor

Pétrichor, an exhibition by Louise Collet at Huberty & Breyne Paris Chapon, explores the connection between the natural world and landscape memory. The exhibition's title refers to the scent of earth after rain, prompting a reflection on lingering impressions where the landscape is presented not as a motif, but as an unstable state of presence.

Collet, trained at École Boulle, ENSAD, and Kyoto City University of Arts, works across drawing, printmaking, and publishing. Her practice focuses on observing reality as indicators of a sensitive relationship with the world, employing a slow, meticulous approach involving repetition and variation. The exhibition features recent etchings, ink drawings on paper, and watercolors, many linked to her editorial projects such as "Un herbier et La forêt de Fontainebleau," "Les mains dans la terre," and "Des éclaircies," highlighting the book as a crucial space for her artistic experimentation.
