Falling Into Now

Loredana Nemes

Falling into Now, presented at Galerie Esther Woerdehoff, Paris, features the work of Loredana Nemes. The exhibition showcases two distinct series that explore themes of grief, presence, and the photographic medium itself.

The "Overexposed" series utilizes AGFA photographic paper exposed directly to sunlight, resulting in dense, vibrant black surfaces. A diagonal cut with a craft knife introduces a white line, symbolizing a fracture and a new beginning. This body of work is described as stemming from a personal experience of grief. The "Graubaum und Himmelmeer" series comprises photographs of beech forests and seascapes taken over four seasons above the Baltic Sea's chalk cliffs, creating a dialogue with the "Overexposed" pieces.
