Response

The exhibition "Response" at Mennour, Paris, features recent paintings by Lee Ufan. For over six decades, Ufan has maintained a consistent artistic philosophy, characterized by simplicity in volume and material in sculpture, and the repetition of forms and limited color palettes in painting. This approach serves as a deliberate withdrawal from a visually saturated world, creating a space for reflection and contemplation.

The "Response" series introduces color to Ufan's work, with forms on white canvases featuring blues and reds. These colors, intense at the center, transition through darkening shades towards black at one edge and blinding whiteness at the other.
