Powłoka

Galerie Art : Concept, Paris, presents "Powłoka" (Polish for membrane, paint covering, film, or surface) by Jan Eustachy Wolski, in collaboration with Neue Alte Brücke. This exhibition marks the inauguration of the "Ménage à Trois" cycle, dedicated to showcasing artists in partnership with their representing galleries.

The works in "Powłoka" transition between abstraction and figuration, featuring solitary figures against chromatic fields, and cityscapes rendered as dense paint patches. Wolski's technique emphasizes texture with protruding paint and gestural strokes, creating a strong physical presence. The exhibition explores themes of perception, shelter, and selective revelation, with ambiguous narratives and a duality of abstraction and figuration, highlighting the painting's surface as a membrane of meaning.
