Works
Gagosian Castiglione, Paris presents an exhibition of three major late paintings by Francis Bacon, on view from April 11 through May 30, 2026. These works represent the artist's final period and his connection to Paris, where he maintained a studio and intellectual presence between 1975 and 1987.
Bacon, known for his intense psychological portrayals, forged a unique visual language. The exhibition features "Study from the Human Body—Figure in Movement" (1982), "Study from the Human Body" (1986), and "Man at a Washbasin" (1989–90). These large-scale canvases are characterized by formal austerity, distilled compositions, and saturated colors, reflecting the artist's approach to lived experience and the body under duress.
