Incompleteness

Incompleteness , an exhibition at Mariane Ibrahim Gallery in Paris, explores themes of partiality, vulnerability, and the refusal of closure through the distinct practices of Cristina Flores Pescorán, Naomi Lulendo, and Shannon T. Lewis. These artists' works, often shaped by experiences across multiple geographies, resist singular interpretations and embrace forms of circulation and negotiation.

Shannon T. Lewis presents pictorial thresholds where interior and exterior spaces merge, using fragmented figures and coexisting perspectives. Cristina Flores Pescorán employs textile and sculptural forms rooted in ritual, reimagining healing through acts of rupture and repair, drawing on pre-Columbian traditions. Naomi Lulendo's architectural compositions, structured as diptychs and polyptychs, resist narrative coherence and linear perspective, creating unresolved environments that invite close attention and allow for misreading.
