Surfaces Végétales

The exhibition "Surfaces végétales" by Bob Verschueren is on view from November 11 to December 31, 2025, at Frédérick Mouraux Gallery, Brussels. An opening reception in the presence of the artist was held on November 11.

Verschueren's work in this series draws inspiration from the structure of leaves, using their repeating yet unique patterns as a model. The artist describes the surface of a leaf, when magnified, as akin to an aerial view of a landscape. By multiplying these surfaces and minimizing the direct recognition of leaves, Verschueren aims to create a "strange skin," drawing parallels between this artificial surface and the natural skin of the planet or the mantle of forests.
